From Yarn to textile
Every design begins with sketching and weaving samples making. In this process I work with form, patterns, colors, tactility and of course the yarn.
The yarn texture, fiber quality color ect. is an important starting point and baseline for the design and weaving process.
Before the weaving itself begins, I use the weaving samples to ensure and collect important knowledge about how the final hand woven textile will be, and to investigate if adjustments are necessary.
When the samples and adjustments are made, the next step is to setting up the loom.
And then the weaving begins.
